Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. Some sites also keep small notes in the browser's own storage. This page lists every one our site uses, what it is for and how to turn it off.
What runs on our site
| Name | Who sets it | What it is for | Kind | How long |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*) | Counts visits and shows how the site is used | Measuring | Up to 2 years | |
| Google Tag Manager | Loads the measuring tools above; sets no cookie of its own | Needed to load the tools | Not stored | |
| Meta Pixel (_fbp, _fbc) | Meta | Measures our ads on Facebook and Instagram and shows them to people likely to need us | Advertising | Up to 90 days |
| ic_first_touch | Icarus (browser storage) | Remembers which of our ads first brought you, so a call you book later is linked to that ad | Measuring | 30 days |
| Our visitor counter | Icarus | Counts page visits on our own systems | Measuring | to fill: to confirm |
| Booking page | Our booking provider | Holds your booking while you pick a time (it opens on its own page) | Needed for booking | Set by that provider |
Cookie lifetimes for Google and Meta are those companies' standard settings.
How to turn them off
- Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Blocking them does not stop the site working, except that a booking may not show which ad brought you.
- Google Analytics: Google offers a browser add-on to opt out (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).
- Meta ads: change your ad settings in your Facebook or Instagram account.
